About the Role:

• Alluxio is seeking a Solutions Engineering Manager to join the Enterprise Field Sales Team in representing the Alluxio Data Orchestration Platform to the marketplace. 
• This is a managerial role where you will be expected to be a player and coach
• You will design enterprise solutions with the Alluxio Platform and help customers deploy and leverage these technologies in an effective manner.
• This relationship covers the entire sales lifecycle starting from initial customer engagement to closing of the deal.
• You are expected to stay current on current enterprise technologies while building out a team of great Solution Engineers.   
• In this role, you will work with sales to qualify and close business by positioning and demonstrating Alluxio’s role in a full-fledged solution.

As the Solutions Engineering Manager at Alluxio, What You Will Be Able To Build and Own:

• Lead and Manage a solutions engineering team as well as the technical sales process for numerous customers day to day, from introductory meetings through proof of concept and all the way to close
• Mentoring and developing the SE team, coaching the Solutions Engineers in planning and executing pilot projects and POCs with customers and prospects
• Being hands on in building, owning, and driving PoC processes in multi-technology environments and have the ability to influence and get buying decisions on new technology solutions
• Map your customer requirements to current and future offerings
• Educate your prospects on the business value of Alluxio's offerings
• Drive progress towards successful sales in concert with Sales
• Transform customer feedback into actionable product roadmap items
• Continuously learn and update your skills in quickly evolving technologies
• Documenting best practices and lessons learned to create a repeatable, scalable Solutions Engineering organization. (Including discovery calls, PoC Scoping, Business Value Assessment, Business Value Realization as well as driving Mutual Success plans with prospects.)

As the Solutions Engineering Manager at Alluxio, What We are Looking For:

• Minimum 2+ years experience in managing a solutions engineering team with documented results and a strong track record with satisfied and growing customers
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a hands-on solutions engineer, supporting all phases of the technical sales cycle
• Minimum 2 -5 + years of success in directly leading a high-performing Solutions Engineering team within a sales environment
• Intermediate/Expert Level Linux/Networking/Storage knowledge required.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems Hadoop, Spark, Presto, HDP, CDH
• Hands-on Knowledge of Orchestration frameworks like Mesos, Kubernetes
• Comfortable triaging and troubleshooting complex distributed system problems
• Formal Leadership Training
