As a Solutions Architect, supporting our business development, capture, and proposal development center, you will be trusted to work on translating customer needs to competitive technical solutions, writing compelling proposals, and providing technical reach back to our customer facing staff and programs. The solutions architect role calls for a professional who possesses a strong foundation in technical functions, in support of business development, capture, and proposal activities and an in-depth knowledge of the Federal/DoD domain.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Interface with technical staff from across the company.
  • Play a key role in the support of business pursuits through development of solutions and related proposals.
  • Engage with customers and business partners.
  • Work with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals.
  • Assist the curation of our corporate knowledge and experience, capability advancement, and related efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop compliant, compelling, and innovative solutions (technical, management, quality, and/or staffing) that support capture and proposal efforts.
  • Write technical content, serve as a proposal technical volume lead, and work with technical staff and SMEs to design solutions.
  • Lead and facilitate brainstorming sessions.
  • Serve as an expert in areas related to your primary area of technical expertise.
  • Author RFIs, white papers, and briefings that showcase the thought leadership of the organization.
  • Participate in business development, program reviews with focus on continuous improvement and/or innovation.
  • Provide technical support to business development and operations staff in customer-facing marketing and business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Capture Director or capture strategy development, including the creation and marketing of “differentiating” value propositions.
  • Take on ‘special projects’ that leverage your strengths and support tactical or strategic business needs.

Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experienced in Cost/Financial Management to include the following: Lifecycle/Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) cost analysis, cost estimating, cost modelling, budget formulation, and financial management support for complex systems, programs, and operational scenarios.
  • Strong knowledge of DFARS and/or DoD FM certification.
  • Strong knowledge of all DoD Appropriations and regulations for each.
  • Experience working DoD PPBE (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, & Execution) process within Program Offices, including budget formulation and budget execution. Including supporting proposals.
  • Familiarity with different DoD financial systems (e.g. Navy ERP, CCARs), their specific function(s) and purpose(s), and their utilization in a collaborative capacity.
  • Experience in the development, maintenance, and performance of cost analysis and cost estimates for Development, Production, and Sustainment scope within a DoD program office.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
  • Experience in proposal lifecycle with experience serving as a solutions architect/technical writer supporting proposal development.
  • Knowledgeable of the business development/capture lifecycle.
  • Experience shaping, bidding and/or writing Federal opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • 10+ years applicable work experience.
  • At least 5 years of direct technical experience required.
  • Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance. TS clearance preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be a strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to undertake research and analysis.
  • Ability to translate technical subject matter into language understandable to non-technical reader.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to collaborate in a group setting.
