Detailed Description:This is a full-time temporary, benefit-based position with an anticipated end date of July 3, 2028. The appointment is renewable at the discretion of the University and dependent upon performance and continued funding.
The Assistant Director of the SOLES Global Center provides leadership in developing and implementing international programs and partnerships that support the mission of the School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES). The Assistant Director will help to design and manage the international enrichment activities for graduate students across the university, and work with the various stakeholders across campus to design and implement international experiences for international visiting faculty and students, will oversee administrative processes, compliance, logistics, and risk management related to global engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Internal Programs - Manage the administration, coordination, and logistics for faculty-led graduate study abroad programs for the School of Leadership and Education Sciences, and other university graduate study academic partners, ensuring alignment with university policies and risk management guidelines:
- Support faculty members in course development, budgeting, pre-departure preparation, and student engagement for international programs.
- Serve as a liaison to partner institutions abroad, facilitating agreements, student exchanges, and academic collaborations.
- Develop and implement safety and crisis response protocols for students and faculty traveling abroad.
- Monitor and assess program effectiveness, gathering feedback from students and faculty to inform continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with university offices (e.g., Registrar, Financial Aid, International Center) to streamline international programming processes.
- Support the marketing and recruitment efforts for international programs, including informational sessions, promotional materials, and outreach campaigns.
External Programs - Ensure the overall productivity and success of the Global Centers’ programs for both international and external constituents such as international conferences, executive programs, and one-to-six week academic international programs hosted at USD:
