Trade School Recruitment Program Manager

ABM is hiring a Trade School Recruitment Program Manager to be responsible for leading ABM’s trade school and early career recruiting efforts. The individual in this role will work cross-functionally to design and deliver mid-to-long-range trade school and early career strategies that establish ABM as an employer of choice. The Trade School Recruitment Program Manager will work closely with the Culture & Inclusion team to influence and scale partnerships with unique talent programs, while helping to establish scalable best practices for trade school and high school recruiting at ABM. As the Trade School Recruitment Program Manager, you may assist sourcing, evaluating, screening, and recommending talent from trade schools and high schools.
This is a Hybrid Work Arrangement (in-office on Tue/Wed/Thu) and can sit at an of our ABM offices located in Sugar Land (TX), Phoenix (AZ), Chicago (IL), NYC (NY), or Atlanta (GA)!
Essential Functions
- Build relationships with target trades schools and high schools in focus locations for priority trade jobs, i.e., electricians, plumber, carpenter, HVAC, construction, painter jobs, etc.
- Present information about ABM’s career opportunities, benefits, and to attract prospective team members.
- Foster relationships with guidance counselors, teachers, and community leaders to enhance ABM’s visibility and reach.
- Attend networking events, job fairs, or industry-specific activities to facilitate connections between students and ABM.
- Document all schools, contacts, contact information, and outreach in DirectEmployers for reporting purposes.
- Generate a diverse candidate pool using various methods including posting jobs on trade school and high school sites, participating in hiring events at trade schools, involvement with student membership organizations, personal networking, and direct sourcing.
- Develop candidate talent pipelines through sourcing channels, recruitment campaigns, internet searches, networking groups, social media, ABM Impact groups, database searches, referrals, and advertising.
- Consult with various internal and external teams to identify talent needs and develop sourcing strategies to attract diverse trade school candidates.
- Perform recruitment, interview, selection, and assessment of trade school and high school applicants and candidates.
- Lead and train TA Ambassadors, Human Resources, and Hiring Managers on building partnerships with focus trade schools and high schools.
- Partner with marketing, internal communications, TA Recruitment Marketing Specialist, and recruitment marketing vendors to develop tag lines, communication/campaigns, and recruitment marketing materials.
- Partner with process optimization to embed best practices for trade school and high school recruiting into current processes.
- Partner with Training Specialist to train TA team members, Hiring Managers, HR, and recruiters on best practices with trade school recruitment.
- Partner with Sr. Reporting Analyst to establish trade school baseline recruitment goals and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of our trade school strategy.
- Provide regular updates on program progress, milestones achieved, and any challenges encountered.
Qualifications – Education & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business-related field, or equivalent related work experience.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience recruiting, preferably with trade schools and/or high schools.
- Experience overseeing trade school or early career recruitment programs strongly preferred.
- Strong sourcing skills with previous experience developing, presenting, and executing sourcing strategies and developing diverse candidate pipelines.
- Strong MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint skills Technology savvy including social media and process mapping.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Recruiting and/or ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) is a plus.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, such as Oracle Recruiting Cloud (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and various applications with advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
