About the role

The Director Revenue, as Deputy Commissioner of State Revenue, will:

  • Lead the skilled staff of the Revenue Branch to ensure strategic priorities are achieved and services are provided with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Represent the Commissioner of State Revenue in a range of interjurisdictional forums and perform the functions of the Commissions under taxation law as required.
  • Ensure correct collection of State revenue, disbursement of grants and performance of audit programs.

About You

You will have a proven track record of leading and managing a large team of professionals across a complex set of operations in the face of competing demands, changing policy and legislative frameworks.

You will have an ability to understand complex legislative and regulatory issues, particularly relating to the general administration of taxation laws and grant administration.  Your success requires the ability to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholders while retaining high levels of trust and credibility.

About the Branch

As part of the Revenue and Regulatory Services Division, the Revenue Branch manages collection of taxation for the State.  The branch administers a number of grants, determines taxation objections and ensures that taxpayers are compliant with State taxation and grant legislation. 

Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a fixed-term five (5) year basis.

Desirable Requirements

Completion of relevant tertiary or industry qualifications and/or professional affiliation is highly desirable but not essential.
