Senior Director, Digital Biomarker Solutions (Nuclear Medicine Imaging)

We are seeking a motivated leader to develop and advance innovative AI-enabled digital solutions through strategic collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. We are looking for someone with experience within Nuclear Medicine imaging in Neuroscience and/or Oncology. The ideal candidate will have expertise with nuclear medicine imaging technology and with quantitative imaging biomarkers. The successful candidate will be highly driven and able to strategically identify new business opportunities and Applications aligned with the strategy set forth by the Biomarker and Digital Solutions leadership team. Feedback or participation on other strategic projects will be required on an ad hoc basis. A proven track record in leading teams focused on deep learning applications as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) is preferable.
This leader will be expected to work with all Lantheus’ capabilities and Line Functions to ensure full view of the necessary resources required to foster and drive the partnership – build product roadmap and invest in new capabilities. A deep understanding of Software as a Medical Device, including big data research, operational, and regulatory aspects, is essential. The role will report to the Vice President and head of Biomarker unit within Corporate Development.
The position is fast-paced and highly collaborative, working with a dynamic network of internal and external stakeholders to achieve Biomarker solutions revenue and strategic goals. Key internal partners include Legal, R&D, Medical Affairs, Quality, Regulatory, SaMD development, and the rest of the Corporate Development team. External partners include Pharma Partners (such as BD, translational, imaging, and clinical operations teams), academic thought leaders, PIs, start-up biotech companies and external consultants as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Strategic Development:
- Identify and develop new AI-enabled digital solutions for oncology and neuroscience imaging.
- Align new application developments with the strategic goals set by the Biomarker and Digital Solutions leadership team.
- Provide feedback and participate in other strategic projects as required.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team focused on deep learning applications as software as a medical device.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Collaboration and Partnership:
- Establish and maintain strategic collaborations with tech, pharmaceutical, and academic institutions, and other external partners.
- Work closely with internal teams (Legal, R&D, Medical Affairs, Quality, Regulatory, and Corporate Development) to ensure comprehensive resource utilization.
- Product and Capability Development:
- Build and maintain a product roadmap for digital solutions in medical imaging.
- Invest in new capabilities to support and drive partnerships and product development.
- Regulatory and Compliance:
- Ensure all digital solutions comply with regulatory standards and best practices for software as a medical device.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the operational and regulatory aspects of software as a medical device, including big data research.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with a dynamic network of internal and external stakeholders to achieve revenue and strategic goals for Biomarker solutions.
- Engage with Pharma Partners, academic thought leaders, PIs, start-up biotech companies, and external consultants as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Education:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computational Science, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Extensive experience in Nuclear Medicine imaging within Neuroscience and/or Oncology.
