Senior Product Owner

ABOUT THE ROLE

Oracle NetSuite is looking for an exceptional, self-directed Product Owner to drive and manage the development of our Experience Platform components that will enable our domain expert teams to build extraordinary user experiences. These components will be used by hundreds of developers world-wide, and they are built using the latest UI technologies.

As a Product Owner, your responsibilities will include understanding customer and engineering needs, gathering requirements, managing feature backlogs, defining release plans, and working and aligning with other Product Owners, UI Architects and Design teams to deliver these features.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Have a deep understanding of customer needs (internal and external), as well as the engineering needs, and have the ability to build products that meet the needs of both audiences.
• Own the scrum team's backlog and prioritize product enhancements, customer and internal requests by making smart, decisive trade-offs using data-driven analysis and sound judgment.
• Actively participate on Discovery sessions driven by Product Managers.
• Collaborate with UX to ensure the Experience Platform components deliver a seamless and intuitive user experience.
• Drive adherence to processes and procedures to ensure the work a scrum team is delivering is aligned to our strategy and priorities.
• Focus on creating a well-documented, maintainable, and scalable component ecosystem.
• Critically analyze the status quo and identify opportunities to improve the Experience Platform and component library.
• Create, execute and communicate the scrum team backlog to achieve the goals and strategy for the assigned product area.
• Create use cases, user stories, and detailed product requirements that clearly articulate desired product functionality.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, UI Architects, Development, QA, Doc, and other Product Owners to deliver great products to our internal and external customers.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to oversee the complete feature lifecycle, encompassing requirements gathering, design, development, documentation, and successful release.
• Communicate proactively to encourage teamwork and cooperation between cross-functional teams and mediate conflicts when necessary.
• Provide value by ensuring the health, happiness, efficiency, and effectiveness of the scrum team.

• We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in staying ahead of the curve, eager to learn new technologies, trends, and best practices in UI/UX design and component development.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions even with limited information.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with Product Managers to translate strategic vision into actionable delivery plans.
• Experience in facilitating communication and alignment between Product Managers and development teams to ensure successful product delivery.
• A solid understanding of the product development lifecycle and product management processes.
• Deep understanding of software development industry standard frameworks (Scaled Agile, Lean, Design thinking, SAFe, OKRs, etc).
• Great team player, comfortable working and collaborating with other Product Owners to achieve common goals.
• Excellent prioritization skills. Ability to create a winning backlog and roadmap to achieve business goals while making difficult tradeoff decisions.
• Ability to make recommendations and decisions independently and make convincing arguments for the direction of the products.
• Passion for and ability to understand customer needs and deliver great solutions. A track record for building products with exceptional user experience.
• Excellent communication. A track record of successfully working with a combination of local and remote development and QA team to deliver quality products.
• At least 2 years of product owner/technical product management/product development/technical professional services experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills: task prioritization, effective time management, meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, and risk identification and mitigation.
• Excellent and transparent communication, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned even when faced with uncertainty.
• Comfortable with change;  agent of change when the need is recognized.
• Not constrained by role definition; contributes where ever needed to make NetSuite a success.
