What is the opportunity?
Senior Business Analyst working as part of the global Futures Clearing IT team within Quantitative and Technology Services. This position supports the Capital Markets client clearing business and associated functional groups globally.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be a key part of an energetic and skilled business and client facing IT team; having accountability for leading, driving and supporting client facing business initiatives and operational projects; analyzing and determining technical solutions that support overall strategy and contribute to our combined success.
The technical platform comprises vendor hosted execution, clearing and back-office applications and several internally developed and supported services that are tightly integrated with futures exchange execution and clearing platforms. This core technical platform interfaces to SEF’s, futures exchanges, clearing houses and RBC enterprise applications and provides all trade processing related capability to support the business, operations and regulatory reporting obligations.
What will you do?
Manage engagement, coordination and communications directly with business, operations, vendors, clients and IT stakeholders across the futures clearing space to perform requirements and solutions analysis (including documenting) for trade processing related development and support items.
Perform detailed data analysis using Excel / SQL on relevant (RBC internal / exchange / clearing) datasets.
Produce and execute test cases appropriate to the scope of development items.
Manage application lifecycle tasks (version updates, packaging requests, documentation).
Be a point of escalation locally for all Futures Clearing IT stakeholders (internal and external).
Support other BA’s, project managers, developers and production support teams; working closely with them as one team to ensure the wider effectiveness and success of the group.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Undergraduate degree coupled with solid experience in a Senior Business Analysis role working in Capital Markets or Financial/Banking industry.
Futures exchange, clearing and product knowledge of ETD, IRS and CDS across geographical regions.
Futures trading / orders / execution / clearing process and lifecycle, data and technical applications knowledge (examples: exchange GUIs, Trading Technologies, Bloomberg Trade Book, Fidessa, CQG, FIX, ION XTP Clear and XTP Core); including administration, troubleshooting, supporting test environments.
Excellent Excel, SQL, data analysis / management skills
Ability to work independently, be a self starter and take ownership of allocated tasks, project manage where needed.
Nice-to-have
Knowledge of ION XTP Clear and XTP Core.
Futures clearing or back office operational experience.
Futures algorithm knowledge / understanding.
FIX messaging knowledge; message structure and data analysis.
Management and / or team lead experience.

The Good-Faith Expected Salary Range For The Above Position Is $135,000 - $225,000 Depending On Factors Including But Not Limited To The Candidate’S Experience, Skills, Registration Status; Market Conditions; And Business Needs. This Salary Range Does Not Include Other Elements Of Total Compensation, Including A Discretionary Bonus And Benefits Such As A 401(K) Program With Company-Matching Contributions; Health, Dental, Vision, Life And Disability Insurance; And Paid Time-Off Plan.
