About the role
<h2><b>Function</b></h2>
<p> </p>
<p>The Business and Information Architect will be responsible for defining and implementing the Business Architecture and the Information Management Strategy of the Assets Department, in accordance with Elia's strategy. You will be part of the TDI (Transformation, Digitalization and Implementation) team that is responsible for the support & implementation of the Digital Transformation Roadmap in collaboration with the business stakeholders. </p>

<p>Your duties will include the following: </p>
<ul>
<li>Definition of the target Business Architecture of Assets in line with the vision / strategy defined by the management of the Assets Department; this includes the definition of the required Business Capabilities (organized in Business Capability Maps) to realize the vision / strategy; </li>
<li>Further elaboration and implementation of the Elia Information Strategy within the Assets Department;
<ul>
<li>Identification and definition of Data Domains and assignment of Data Owners; </li>
<li>Co-creation of a business glossary (with the data-steward community); </li>
<li>Defining Conceptual Business Information models using the Elia standard toolkits; </li>
<li>Determining the required Business Capabilites to implement the target Information Architecture; </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Continuous alignment and anchoring of the Assets Business Architecture and Information Strategy with the other group departments (Strategy, Corporate, CMS, Infra and Division-D); </li>
<li>Ensure alignment of IT Architecture and IT Roadmap with the Business Architecture and Business Roadmap; </li>
<li>Identification of candidate Business Products and Data Products; </li>
<li>Organization of the monthly Business Transformation Meeting where Transversal Business Topics are discussed with the respective Business Owners; follow-up of the identified actions; </li>
<li>Ensure anchoring of Business and Information Architecture in projects and programs by defining impacted Business Capabilities and Information Exchanges; </li>
<li>Take the lead for projects and programs to define and validate Architecture Blueprints – in collaboration with Domain and Solution Architects with strong involvement of Business Stakeholders and Business Analysts; enable Domain and Solution Architects to define appropriate (digital) solutions; </li>

<ul>
<li>Identification of potential synergies at Business and Information Architecture level within the department and cross-department; </li>
<li>Actively contribute to the refinement of Architecture methodologies, frameworks, tools and trainings; </li>
<li>Participation in weekly alignment meetings with the (lead) Business Architects of other departments; </li>
<li>Application of the Business and Information Architecture in product / project context to support the teams in defining the scope, information concepts, information exchanges, products, ... </li>
<li>Take the lead in definition and implementation of (innovative) Proof-of-Concepts or Pilots (e.g. first DataProduct implementations);</li>
<li>Pro-active communication of the Business and Information Architecture vision towards all impacted stakeholders (ranging from C-level till operational level); </li>
<li>Act as “data evangelist” within and across the Assets Department; </li>
<li>Organization of the necessary Data Alignment Meetings where standards will be followed up, discussed and further refined – taking into account existing governance bodies; </li>
<li>Act as coach for your colleagues (Business Stakeholders, Business Analysts, Data Stewards, Data Owners, …) for the consistent and correct implementation of the Business Architecture and Information Strategy.</li>

<h2><b>Your Profile</b></h2>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>You hold a degree in civil or commercial engineering or a master’s degree in a scientific discipline; </li>
<li>You have at least 5 years of proven experience as a Business and Information Architect or similar role in a data-driven organization;</li>
<li>You have a general knowledge of the energy sector and of data management processes; </li>
<li>Your strategic thinking is highly developed and you have the ability to translate the impact of a strategy at tactical level (using the Business and Information architecture); </li>
<li>You have a solid knowledge on how to define a Business Architecture framework and how to communicate in a comprehensible way to the different stakeholders; </li>
<li>You have a solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD); </li>
<li>You have a solid understanding of Software Integration Patterns, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes and Data Meshes allowing a fluent interaction with colleagues of the IT-department; </li>
<li>A good knowledge of Data Management processes and how to implement them pragmatically in a data-driven organization is considered as a strong plus (e.g. inspired by DMBOK); </li>
