Head of Operations, Policy Systems

The Policy Systems Value Stream within the technology organization manages the 'Run the Business' projects for the Policy Administration Platform. As the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for managing and driving multiple teams that drive product changes (rates, rules and forms), small enhancements and production support. As part of this role, you impact this organization by: 

Managing scope and delivery by working with business stakeholders and IT teams. 

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver backlog for the following; (referred as “operations”) Product changes, enhancements and production support defect resolution.

• Work with leadership, prioritize operations initiatives and come up with solution options and high-level effort for multiple teams. 

• Communicate the solution design, discuss options and gain consensus across stakeholders.  

• Work with leadership to prioritize the execution of operations initiatives and socialize operations roadmap. 

• Work with project leads and own end-to-end delivery of the prioritized items, clarifying scope, and socialize release/delivery plans to ensure alignment. 

• Provide guidance to project leads on agile methodologies, elaborating requirements, authoring stories, defining acceptance criteria and obtaining signoffs.  

• Report out on progress/team capacity for operations teams, outline dependencies/constraints and escalate issues as appropriate.  

• Analyze post go-live metrics to assess the success of operations initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations.

• 12+ years of experience in the insurance industry with at least 7+ years of managing delivery with large teams.
