Position Summary
The Contract Management Leadership is responsible for the strategic planning and consolidated management of contract operations activities. Incumbents work in partnership with strategic sourcing, sourcing operations and the various functional areas to plan, write, and administer the contracting process. Incumbents deliver quality, compliant contracts with tangible earned value to PG&E internal customers while maintaining the highest degree of safety for employees, coworkers, service providers and the general public.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $122,000
California Maximum: $207,000
Bay Area Minimum: $ 128,000
Bay Area Maximum: $218,000
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and based on business needs.
Manager Responsibilities
- Drives strategic contract planning for Land & Environmental and Gas Operations including ongoing development and modification of contracts process.
- Provides earned value to internal customers through contract negotiations.
- Develops a diverse pool of contracting resources.
- Puts together contract forecast and provides insight and analytics to the contacting process by collecting and reporting quality data.
- Manages contract development including scope, pricing, contract structure, and incentives, in partnership with the Sourcing department
- Participates and coordinates with Resource Management regarding annual, quarterly, and monthly planning activities related to construction and the potential for contracting..
- Identifies and communicates issues/feedback to engineering and/or project services throughout the life cycle of the contracts.
- Partners with the Sourcing and others to ensure contract and record keeping compliance. Ensure records kept in accordance with compliance requirements.
- Manages storm and after-hours contract services during major events and after hour’s contract deployments on an on-going basis.
- Articulates company compliance, policy, procedures, procurement issues, and SOX requirements that impact the business contracted vendors working on moderate to complex construction projects. Adheres to bid procedures and communicates arising issues/problems to contractors (supplies/vendors) during that process.
- Utilizes financial, legal, and system knowledge in negotiation of vendor contracts.
Manager Knowledge, Skills Abilities & Tech Competencies
- Knowledge and understanding of utilities operations and business processes.
- Strong working knowledge of contract development and negotiation of contracts and change orders, and formulating bids, grants, agreements, and RFPs.
- Ability to identify and implement metrics, operational changes and improvements in support of the business.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to persuade leaders and peers to change positions or approach based on situational need
- Ability to develop and manage department. budgets, expenses and variances, and to manage resources.
- Ability to develop and implement short and medium-term strategies in support of company and organizational objectives.
- Ability to develop working relationships with customers, business partners and external contacts, ensuring work plans and operations are coordinated, aligned and support department and company goals and objectives.

Minimum
· High School or GED
· 8 years total related experience, including:
· 3 years supervisory/mana
