Overview
The Human Resources Generalist - Field is the primary HR support for PCC stores and will travel between assigned store locations and the main office as required. The successful individual will have a broad and deep set of HR skills and will exercise their knowledge in each HR discipline to serve the store's needs, its leadership, and staff. As an HR Field Generalist, you will perform professional-level human resources duties in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, employment law compliance, and recruiting to ensure well staffed stores.

Main Job Responsibilities
- Develop an HR partnership with store leaders and staff that centers on mutual respect and trust, including support with thorough and routine communication with staff.
- Provides HR subject matter knowledge at the stores regarding the union contract, staff handbook, benefits, health and safety, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, training and development, recruiting, and payroll.
- Provides general HR advice, direction, and guidance to store leadership on daily employee matters and various complex employee relations issues.
- Administers various human resource plans, policies, and procedures and communicates updates and changes broadly.
- Develops systematic improvements to simplify store leadership and staff processes in training, career development, internal recruiting, and much more.
- Partners with HR leaders to support job fairs and recruiting, field benefits questions, support open enrollment, and facilitate training.
- Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate action for progressive discipline in partnership with store leadership.
- Assist with HR departmental projects and initiatives
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned
- This position works consistently at a light physical work level and may be asked to work on occasion at a medium or heavy physical work level when supporting stores or other offsite events. Frequently required to sit, walk, reach, and grasp. Occasionally required to be on feet with a mix of standing and walking throughout shift.
Qualifications and Skills
REQUIRED:
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a HR Generalist capacity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal relationship building.
- Ability to build and maintain trust, protect and preserve confidential information along with high attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize/re-prioritize multiple projects and/or deadlines in a fast-paced and constantly shifting work environment.
- Exposure to labor relations or a union environment.
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible when working in various environments.
- Broad understanding of HR functions including recruiting, training, benefits, employee relations and compliance, HRIS systems.
- Able to multi-task, learn, problem-solve, prioritize, set and attain goals, work independently and have strong organizational skills.
- Ability to make responsible decisions with imperfect information.
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel without barriers to all store locations.
