How You Will Make An Impact

Build, coach and manage a geographically dispersed team of business development professionals, fostering a high-performance, result-oriented, and client-focused culture.

Establish clear goals and performance metrics, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Sales Strategy, Marketing, and Execution:

Lead the development and execution of a scalable Go-To-Market strategy to drive revenue growth and expand the company’s footprint in the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring a customer-centric approach to solution selling.

Translate corporate goals into actionable sales and marketing initiatives.

Work with Sales & Marketing teams to improve prospecting and lead conversion to opportunities.

Define territory plans, account plans, sales targets, and KPI’s to drive consistent growth.

Lead sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting activities.

Implement new processes to improve the efficiency of the BD team, including opportunity management.

Leverage market insights and client feedback to refine business strategies and improve win rates.

Identify and analyze emerging trends and opportunities that align with the company’s capabilities and strategic goals, adjust strategy as necessary to drive continued growth.

Serve as a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team, providing insight and recommendations on business direction and client engagement priorities.
Customer Engagement:

Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with client executives and decision-makers to support long-term partnerships and growth goals.

Maintain a deep understanding of client needs and align solutions to meet technical, regulatory, and commercial expectations.

Lead the business development process from opportunity identification through proposal development, pricing, and contract execution.

Participate in key deal negotiations and serve as an executive sponsor when needed.

Ensure proposals and client communications reflect high standards of professionalism, responsiveness, and accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Provide market feedback to inform pricing strategies, new service offerings, and go-to-market planning.

Partner with internal departments—Marketing, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Product Development, and Finance—to assess and deliver client requirements and ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
Sales Operations & Enablement:

Implement tools and processes that improve visibility and efficiency. Own the Salesforce.com strategy, standards, and rules. Implement SFDC improvements.

Define and monitor KPI’s and report business development metrics, providing regular updates to the executive team.

Ensure data accuracy, reporting discipline, and compliance with internal processes.

What You Will Bring to the Role
Minimum Required:

Bachelor’s in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or a related field
Preferred:
-
MBA or advanced degree
Experience:
-
15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or relevant industry (Required)

10+ years of people management (Required)
