PURPOSE:

The Project and Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects, as well as maintaining and improving the efficiency of plant equipment and systems. This role requires a strong background in project management, mechanical and electrical maintenance, and a commitment to continuous improvement and safety.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:

Project Management:

• Plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects from conception to completion.

• Develop project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.

• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

• Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.

• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.

• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.

• Report and escalate issues to management as needed.

• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Maintenance Management:

• Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and systems.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.

• Manage maintenance budgets and control costs effectively.

• Train and mentor maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.

• Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team.

• Lead and participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.

Customer Focus

• Ensure that all direct reports understand and demonstrate the importance of high levels of customer service.

• Interact with Supply Chain Manager on site in order to maximize the efficiency of the production plans.

• Develop working pattern to support local manufacturing needs

Improving Standards

• Set high standards and lead by example to facilitate continuous improvement in cost base and KPI's utilizing lean manufacturing techniques. 

• Sponsor the promotion and sharing of Best Practice both internally and externally.

Problem Solving

• Responsible for identifying and resolving problems in all areas of their remit (staff, production and equipment).
