Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15-17. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. 

The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Thursday and Friday, interviews will take place at our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is actively seeking a bright and highly motivated Entry-Level Digital Security Specialist for employment in our Transportation Business Line based out of our New York, NY office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Work with system engineers and other domain experts in variety of cybersecurity roles including offensive/assessment, engineering/design, implementation, verification, compliance oversight, and research. 
  • Work with internal and external engineering teams to build cybersecurity awareness and understanding. 
  • Engage in ongoing learning and information sharing efforts with other cybersecurity personnel at AECOM to grow the team’s knowledge base and capabilities. 
  • Validate external logical and physical connections 
  • Create hardware and software inventories 
  • Identify non-essential and vulnerable software 
  • Verify that logging capabilities are active and working; activate capabilities as required 
  • Identify remote access tools and configurations 
  • Review software and equipment for lifecycle management parameters; develop temporary mitigation and upgrade plans as required 
  • Verify malware prevention presence and configuration 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other relevant major OR demonstrated equivalency of experience &/or education
  • Demonstrated experience working with Digital Advertising and Customer Information System displays 
  • Experience with AutoCAD PlanGrid, ProjectWise and Bluebeam 
  • Valid US Driver’s License 
  • Must be a US Citizen due to the nature of the work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Digital Advertising and Customer Information System displays 
  • Experience with AutoCAD PlanGrid, ProjectWise and Bluebeam 
  • Cybersecurity community involvement (e.g., a portfolio of programming/scripting projects, cybersecurity related write-ups, blog posts / articles, public presentation videos or guides, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in business process workflows 
  • Proficiency in object-oriented software methodologies 
  • Operating Systems: MS Windows, MacOS, Kali Linux, Ubuntu 
  • Programming Languages: Python, C, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX 
  • Software: Oracle VirtualBox, VMWare, AutoCAD, PlanGrid, ProjectWise, Bluebeam 
  • Direct experience with, or working knowledge of: Digital Advertising and Customer Information System displays, Operational Technology (OT), IT and OT networking equipment, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
