The Division of Cardiology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG), a major teaching hospital of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), is recruiting for an Adult Echo (Cardiac) Sonographer. We are seeking an outstanding professional with a record of excellence in performing research ultrasound studies of the heart including 2-dimension, M-mode, Doppler, and color interrogation. Perform patient ultrasounds, as needed.

Yesresearch ultrasound studies of the heart
- Perform research ultrasound studies of the heart including 2-dimension, M-mode, Doppler, and color interrogation
- Explain the purpose and procedure of each test to the patient/research subject in a professional and compassionate manner. Answer questions regarding the research in an appropriate manner.
- Collect and analyze data using the ultrasound machine to process echocardiograms including data entry, editing, and analysis. Conduct online interpretation of studies to select appropriate data measurements for analysis.
- Maintain quality, consistency, hygiene and follow laboratory and hospital protocols.
- Provide recommendations to the PI (Lucas Zier) on appropriate metrics for follow-up. Generate and provide recommendations on new reports helpful to the study.
- Assists with TEE probe sterilization procedures. Assists with inventory and stocking of supplies and maintaining the cleanliness of the exam rooms.

- Two years of college, preferably with courses in physiology, psychology and electronics,
- One year of experience in diagnostic ultrasound technology
- Successful completion of a traineeship in ultrasonic technology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Cardiac Sonography program
- Successful completion of the ARDMS and/or CCI examination or equivalent training certification.
- 2 years of working and scanning experience in an echocardiography lab after graduation
- Familiarity with both GE and Philips equipment
- Fluency in a second language
- Previous work in research, teaching/mentoring, or quality improvement projects.
