This role provides an opportunity to develop skills in proposal development towards a position as a Senior Pre-Award Coordinator while working alongside Senior Personnel. This position reports to the Associate Director.
The Pre-Award Specialist will work with limited assistance and actively participate in specific projects and more complicated grants, including NSF, NIH, DARPA, DOE, DOT, NASA, Foundations, and will work with multiple subcontract proposals and budgets, including cost share. This role provides an opportunity to develop skills in proposal development towards a position as a Senior Pre-Award Specialist while working alongside Senior Personnel. This position primarily reports to the Director.

Job Responsibilities
The Pre-Award Coordinator will:
Review assigned proposal requests and examine each proposal response announcement for variations from past practices and stay current with detailed instructions particular to each submission, advise PIs of such requirements and details, and make changes to documents prior to submission, if necessary, with Associate Director and/or Director assistance.
Become familiar with each proposal solicitation to be able to advise PIs in the preparation of correct proposal files and necessary components for NSF and NIH.
Prepare accurate budgets in Excel using existing templates, budget justifications, and other Sponsor cost elements, understanding sponsoring agency regulations and University policies regarding allowability and allocability in consultation with Principal Investigators, postdocs, and graduate students, with assistance from the Associate Director and/or Director.
Manage outgoing subaward documentation and advise incoming subcontracting partners of necessary requirements and timing for subcontract documentation.
In appropriate online systems, create and populate research proposals conforming to Sponsor and University guidelines, managing all necessary documents for submission.
Act as liaison between faculty, ORS, and PCI, especially regarding management of tight timelines, and maintain
