As a Specialist - Outside Plant (OSP) Analyst I, you will provide outside plant project support for a geographic area, along with analytical preparation of records, statistics and reports relating to OSP functions.  This will also include, but not be limited to support for outside plant engineering (OSPE) and/or construction (OSPC) efforts.  This position will work closely with a group of engineers and/or construction personnel to ensure that outside plant projects are completed on time, in scope and on budget. This may include monitoring and management of scope, budget, timeline, installation and integration.

 

In this role, you will also support internal and external construction partners by submitting and auditing the inbound shipments and utilization of materials, maintain inventory levels by ensuring accuracy in tracking systems as well as processing bill of materials and good receipts of construction materials. 

 

The OSP Analyst is a key resource in tracking outside plant build status, build milestones and utilizing data to trend production for forecasting as well as identify process and system improvements required for our team to achieve record construction builds.

 

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

 

This position can be hired at either a Specialist - Outside Plant Analyst (2025-28055) or Specialist - Outside Plant Analyst I (2025-28056) level depending on the skills and qualifications of the candidate. Different job postings exist for each of these positions. Responsibilities

  • Analytical preparation of records, statistics and reports regarding outside plant functions. 
  • Examine project documentation related to outside plant functions.  Ensure data completeness and accuracy. 
  • Provides support to engineering and construction personnel by collecting and verifying data required to complete outside plant engineering and construction tasks. 
  • Maintain data integrity of certain outside plant related tools.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in method and procedures in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to peers and assist onboarding

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 4+ years of utility construction experience -AND/OR- engineering experience
  • 1+ years of analytical experience

 

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, GIS  and the ability to learn new tools as they are deployed. 
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Organized, self-motivated, detail orientated, analytical, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • SAP Experience/knowledge
  • Ariba experience/knowledge
  • Project Management experience/exposure
  • 2+ years of telecommunications experience
