About the Role
As a Technical Sourcer, you will act as a strategic talent partner to engineering leadership, responsible for building and optimizing top-of-funnel pipelines that directly impact the growth of Sigma’s technical organization. You’ll play a critical role in identifying and engaging engineering professionals with deep technical expertise. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the intersection of technology and talent acquisition, and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
This is a 6 month contract position based in our San Francisco or New york office. This position offers the potential for conversion to a full-time role upon the successful completion of the contract period, based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the full sourcing lifecycle for engineering roles, with a focus on frontend, backend, infrastructure, and systems-level talent.
- Design and deploy innovative sourcing strategies using advanced search techniques, competitive mapping, market intelligence, and data-driven experimentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Recruiting stakeholders to deeply understand technical requirements, team dynamics, and hiring priorities.
- Build and maintain technical talent pipelines aligned to high-priority initiatives such as distributed systems architecture, data platform scaling, and developer experience.
- Continuously refine sourcing operations, driving improvements in outreach strategies, conversion rates, and candidate experience through metrics and automation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers by providing market insights, candidate calibration, and funnel analytics to guide decision-making.
- Champion recruiting enablement, including interviewer calibration, pipeline forecasting, and ATS optimization (Greenhouse).
- Leverage tooling across the stack—LinkedIn Recruiter, GoodTime, Github, and custom Boolean logic—to efficiently identify and engage passive technical talent.
- Ensure sourcing hygiene and compliance by consistently updating pipelines and maintaining accurate data across sourcing workflows and systems.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of technical sourcing/recruiting experience in a fast-paced startup or agency setting focused on engineering hires.
- Demonstrated ability to source for deep technical roles—including frontend, backend engineers, infrastructure engineers, and systems architects—at scale.
- Proficient in leveraging search algorithms, GitHub, Stack Overflow, advanced Boolean strings, and other sourcing tools to target highly specialized engineers.
- Technically literate; comfortable engaging with engineers on foundational concepts like distributed systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and operational rigor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly synthesize technical requirements and market feedback.
- Experience sourcing within SaaS or high-growth technology companies strongly preferred.
- Proficient in recruiting technology including ATS (Greenhouse), scheduling tools (GoodTime), and sourcing platforms (LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, etc.).
Additional Job details
The pay range for this position is $40/hr - $60/hr per hour.
