This is mid-level professional information technology work conducting financial systems analysis and configuration. This work requires independent and critical thought, especially focused on problem definition and solution analysis. Some tasks may require the review of work performed by individuals in lower level position.
Individuals in this class are expected to independently complete assignments of advanced complexity, using advanced technical skills. Individuals in this position combine financial analysis, reporting, and business systems analysis to support solutions for budget, finance and accounting areas as well as management and administrative reporting. They are responsible for supporting implementation, maintenance, and review of financial systems and participating in the development, implementation, and optimization of business application systems.
Work in this class is distinguished from other classes by its advanced level duties and interdepartmental interactions. Individuals in this class are expected to independently complete assignments of advanced complexity, using advanced technical skills. Individuals assigned to this classification report to manager and work under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Researches, evaluates, and analyzes the use and performance of financial software and related operational strategies, business processes and procedures. Makes recommendations to improve responsiveness, accuracy, usability, and reliability of financial, budgetary, and accounting operations, transactions, and reporting.

Participates in new software procurement including requirement gathering, initial studies, creation of functional and technical  specification and evaluation of vendor interviews and responses.
