Job Summary:

This position independently conducts partial or comprehensive occupational safety and health inspections in all types of industries throughout Arizona to ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and all standards and rules issued pursuant to the Act. Writes details and accurate reports describing the findings of the inspections. Provides occupational safety and health information and instructions to employees and employers as requested. Maintains equipment utilized for evaluation of workplace hazards. This position works under the general supervision of a first-line supervisor.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● This position is responsible for conducting ADOSH Consultation inspections
● Conducts an opening conference with management personal and union representatives as required, conduct a walkaround inspection to gain knowledge of the hazards within the workplace, take written notes, photographs, videos, recordings and sampling as required.
● Use and performance of a variety of technical monitoring equipment
● Write complete and accurate repost of the inspection
● Recommend appropriate abatement based on hazard, employee exposure and employer knowledge
● Determines what common hazards exist in the industry
● Calibrate sampling and monitoring equipment as necessary
● Conducts employee and management interviews to determine exposure to hazards
● Reviews safety and health programs and conduct a closing conference
● Answers and follows up on questions generated by external customers who need the most up to date OSHA information
● Attend and complete safety and health training classes
● Conducts safety and health presentations/training sessions in classrooms and through webinars.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of
• The Consultation Policies and Procedures Manual (CPPM)
• Industrial Commission of Arizona Policies and Procedures
• ADOSH policies, procedures, and rules
• OSHA Information System (OIS)
• Salesforce Integrated Management Information System
• The OSHA standards, Arizona Revised Statutes, Arizona Administrative Codes as well as consensus standards
• Occupational health and safety hazard recognition (e.g. silica, hexavalent chromium, lead, asbestos, blood borne pathogens, hazard communication, permit-required confined spaces, noise, respiratory, unsafe trenching practices, fall hazards, electrical hazards, machine guarding) and their potentials for causing injury and/or illnesses
• Effective methods for eliminating or controlling occupational safety and health exposures
• Goggle applications, Windows, Excel, Publisher, Word and Powerpoint.
