RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works with an intermediate degree of supervision and/or detailed procedures.
• Performs routine, complex and occasionally highly complex assays in the Microbiology and Chemistry Lab (all activities must be performed in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.)
• Performs other duties assigned, including responsibilities in other areas of Research and Development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Basic lab skills including aseptic technique, quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Strong math skills.
• Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time, handle strong odors and may, on occasion, have to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must live within a commutable distance from Austin, Minnesota (relocation/housing assistance not provided.)

Preferred

• Working toward a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with lab experience.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is between $17.75 - $17.75 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
