Your Specific Responsibilities:
Supervises employees spending majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work. Performs routine inspection of the building facilities to determine both immediate and preventative maintenance needs. Set priorities and establish repair schedules for trades personnel to accomplish repairs.
Provide technical assistance to trades personnel. Assists in obtaining supplies and materials to complete projects. This includes preparing specifications, obtaining quotes and abiding with purchasing procedures.
Assists with the identification of building facilities maintenance needs for inclusion in the Annual Resource Management Plan, Five Year Work Program, Fixed Capital Outlay program, etc. Recommends items to be included in project scopes involving building facilities, reviewing plans and inspection of construction projects for compliance with maintenance needs.
Meets with engineers, supervisors, local and state officials regarding compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Manage efforts to bring the Department in compliance with applicable rules and regulations or make recommendations as how to bring the Department into compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Assist in the preparation of contracts when needs exceed the capabilities of maintenance personnel.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Knowledge of building codes and how to comply with such codes.
- Knowledge of the Department’s purchasing procedures. <
