JOB DESCRIPTION
- Temporary/Seasonal Internship

In support of ORU’s mission to develop whole leaders for the whole world, and in conjunction with ORU Career Services' goal to support student career readiness, serve as a resource for undergraduate students to enhance their employability and career success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Counseling Intern at the Oral Roberts University Career Services Office will provide career counseling and guidance to students, assisting them with career exploration, resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
  • Under the supervision of the Director of Career Services, the intern will conduct one-on-one advising sessions, facilitate workshops, and support students in utilizing career development resources such as Handshake and Jobscan.
  • The Counseling Intern will also collaborate with staff to develop career-related programming, contribute to employer engagement initiatives, and assist in tracking student outcomes. This internship offers hands-on experience in higher education career counseling.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Enrolled in the ORU Graduate Professional Counseling degree program- required.
  • Experience in student support services preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Computer experience should include MS Word and Excel.
  • Must have the ability to effectively deal with persons from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
