Position Summary:
The Line Leader works hand in hand with material control employees to prioritize employee safety, maintain top-notch product quality, and optimize asset performance. Together, they strive to meet the production plan (cases) promptly and within budget. How do they make it happen? By nurturing and developing employees, helping them bridge competency gaps, and guiding them through the onboarding process. They provide ongoing training, coaching, and corrective action to ensure everyone is equipped to excel in their roles.
The Line Leader's focus is on achieving consistent results and exceeding expectations day in and day out. They lead by example, practicing what they preach, and inspiring others to follow suit. Their dedication extends beyond mere words, as they actively cultivate a workplace culture that engages and motivates employees at all levels. Key Responsibilities:
- Understand all aspects of Safety-Quality-Cost-NCE-TPM and the company handbook.
- Provide support in various capacities throughout the employment life cycle, including hiring, termination, and addressing labor relations issues when necessary.
- Offer effective coaching and guidance to teams.
- Enforce all rules and policies consistently, holding individuals accountable on a daily basis. Ensure personnel hygiene and safety PPE-ae are adhered to daily.
- Lead daily shift change meetings, weekly staff meetings, DOR, SHO, and other necessary meetings.
- Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills to achieve the production plan, distributing skills adequately.
- Develop the team's competencies by assessing their capabilities in relation to factory needs and leveraging internal and external competency experts to address any gaps.
- Maintain communication with the maintenance planner regarding daily and weekly maintenance plans, as well as preventative maintenance tasks and frequencies, to optimize efforts and results.
- Communicate with the Operations Manager on essential matters such as nonconformity, production issues, and planning schedules.
- Collaborate with support departments (QA Lab, Engineering, TAG, Supply Chain, and Finance) and customer departments to ensure processing meets or exceeds expected requirements.
- Respond effectively and work cross-functionally within the plant, particularly with Accounting, Safety, Human Resources, and MIS.
- Review manufacturing processing records to ensure compliance with CFR, FDA Regulations, and Nestlé's requirements.
- Investigate production deviations and issue reports accordingly.
- Ensure that quality objectives are met, including adherence to GMPS and conducting product quality checks.
- Keep SOPs and work instructions updated and available for all positions.
- Proactively drive initiatives to achieve business results.
- Implement, improve, and reinforce the company's environmental health and safety programs and product safety programs effectively.
- Ensure the work area/line is tour-ready at all times.
- Manage labor within budget and ensure effective utilization on a daily basis.
