Job Description:

Job Description: Party Chief

Pay Range: Commensurate with Industry Experience

Objective: The Party Chief is responsible for the managing the activities of a survey party throughout various job locations. The Party Chief provides highly technical support and insight to project management for heavy civil projects.

Schedule: Monday through Friday plus additional days as needed

Job Duties:

  • Utilize survey equipment and manage others to locate, review, and research job locations

  • Operations include identifying landmarks, physical objects, and significant land changes that would affect the required survey

  • Supervise survey work, evaluate priorities, and coordinate work efforts

  • Review the standard of work being performed and derive necessary field calculations from work completed

  • Utilize and provide training for survey instruments and equipment

  • Ensures that angles, distance, and information are accurate and conform to regulations and standards

  • Record and illustrate, in note form, a neat and legible reproduction of work performed

  • Consult with computer operators and provide knowledge during the final computations. Ensure that the final map of plat represents a comprehensive and accurate description of the field survey

  • Perform administrative functions such as completing time sheets, creating vehicle mileage reports, maintaining expense accounts, and documenting subsequent expenditures

  • Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Write reports, business correspondence, and project documents

  • Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employee
