As Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will utilize the latest medical equipment and technology to attain functional images, prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and perform various non-imaging studies as necessary. In addition to working with complex apparatus, you will also spend a substantial amount of time interacting directly with both in- and outpatients, providing injections and scans. This role offers an excellent way to enhance your current skillsets, gain extensive hands-on experience and make a difference in the lives of patients every day.
A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00AM – 2:30PM or 7:00AM – 3:30PM, with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform elution of 99mTc generators, prepare radiopharmaceuticals and ensure compliance with regulations and recommendations by state/federal regulatory and accreditation agencies.
Perform hot lab responsibilities, such as elution of generator according to prescribed procedure and manufacturer specifications using aseptic technique.
Perform elute quality control using aseptic technique.
Perform radiopharmaceuticals kit preparations and quality control according to departmental procedure and manufacturer specifications using aseptic techniques.
Label and record required documentation according to department procedures.
Administer radiopharmaceuticals according to department protocol using aseptic technique in compliance with state/federal regulations and accreditation agencies.
Ascertain correct patient, study and radiopharmaceuticals by checking patient ID, requisitions and radiopharmaceuticals label prior to radiopharmaceutical administration.
Properly record pharmaceuticals.
