Physician's Assistant

The Physician Assistant works closely with the physician to provide quality patient care.

Essential Functions

• Working under the direction of the supervising physician the PA will care for patients by taking medical histories, order and interpret laboratory tests and images, make diagnoses, and prescribe medications, initiating and performing consultations and follow-ups as allowed by State Regulations
• Record pertinent data on patient charts for signature by M.D. Ensure availability and completeness of documentation, reports and imaging documentation. 
• Facilitate supervising physician referral of patients to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, or other resources of the community or other physicians 
  Perform chart audits
• Assess patients’ needs and Provide patient education and instruction regarding treatment plan  
• All other specific tasks delegated by supervising physician in accordance with Regulations and the physician assistant’s knowledge and experience.
   

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Master's Degree preferred
• Physician Assistant License
• American Board of Medical Specialties Certificate and
• DEA Certificate 
• ACLS

Experience & Skills 

• Able to perform health care tasks in radiation oncology delegated by supervising physician efficiently and effectively consistent with patient’s health and welfare
• Able to obtain and sustain clinical hospital privileges
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision

• Ability to travel distances within the surrounding community

• Good diagnostic capabilities

• Maintain privileges at hospitals/institutions as required
