The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, supervision, and clinical oversight to a team of clinicians delivering behavioral health and social service programs. This position supports staff in providing high-quality, evidence-based services while ensuring compliance with agency policies, ethical standards, funding and accreditation requirements. The Clinical Supervisor offers ongoing guidance and feedback as clinicians use their professional expertise, discretion, and judgment to assess, diagnose, and treat their clients. The Clinical Supervisor fosters a culture of professional growth, accountability, and collaboration through reflective supervision, guidance, and training. This role balances clinical and administrative responsibilities, including program oversight, documentation review, performance evaluation, and limited direct client service. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as workload and supervisory scope may shift based on program and agency needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Duties include, but are not limited to the following)
1. Clinical Supervision and Staff Support
- Provide individual and/or group supervision to assigned clinicians in accordance with professional standards and licensure requirements
- Offer guidance, consultation, and mentorship while supporting clinicians’ independent professional judgment in clinical decision-making, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Offer feedback and coaching to promote professional growth, clinical competence, and service quality
- Facilitate case consultations, team meetings, and staff development opportunities
- Develop and implement performance improvement plans as needed to support staff success
- Maintain an atmosphere of collaboration, learning, and reflective practice
2. Documentation and Quality Assurance
- Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency, funding, and accreditation standards
- Ensure timely completion of records including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance staff to maintain adherence to documentation standards and resolve compliance concerns
- Maintain familiarity with program requirements, outcome measures, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support continuous quality improvement through participation in audits, reviews, and corrective action planning
3. Program and Caseload Management
- Assist in managing client assignments, caseload distribution, and waitlists in coordination with the Clinical Director
- Monitor staff productivity, performance indicators, and service delivery to ensure program effectiveness
- Provide direct clinical services to a limited caseload (average 10-15 sessions weekly) to ensure continuity of care and program coverage
- Coordinate staff schedules to maintain appropriate coverage, approve leave requests, and address staffing needs
