Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Infection Preventist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an Infection Preventionist, you will:
•Provide integral input into the design and implementation of educational
presentations regarding infection prevention and isolation/precautions in
relation to specific communicable diseases.
•Conduct surveillance and outbreak investigations as indicated.
•In collaboration with Occupational Health, investigate significant infection
problems and other infections among patients and employees.
•Assist in planning, and day-to-day operations of the infection prevention
program.
•Report communicable diseases to respective units/departments as required.
•Ensure infection prevention databases are maintained in a timely fashion.
•Represent infection prevention at entity/system-wide forums.

Qualifications include:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or Medical Technology, Master's degree preferred.
•Previous experience in infection control and knowledge of OSHA, TJC, CDC, CARF and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines related to infection control
•More than 10 years of direct infection control experience preferred
•Previous infection control experience in the Rehabilitation setting is strongly preferred
•Computer literacy, including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and epidemiology software
•Working knowledge of adult education, patient care management, microbiology, immunology, and health care epidemiology
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule:

This role is responsible for the oversight of infection prevention activities of two inpatient rehab hospitals (97 beds) and 7 outpatient therapy clinics.
