Reporting to the Architectural Specialties (AS) Estimating Manager, Architectural Specialties Design Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating new projects for our clients and independent representatives. This position creates accurate quotes & diagrams based on criteria derived from project documents/information, reviews existing quotes for changes in scope of work, and assists with the preliminary process of all projects.

What does a Design Estimator do?
- Resource Maintenance:
o Maintains all estimates & general documentation by organizing, filing, & archiving into servers & systems.
- Customer Service:
o Showcases basic knowledge of all product solutions.
o Communicates basic technical knowledge externally utilizing phone, email, and slack with Sales Representatives, Architectural Specialties CAD Designers, Contractors, and Installers.
o Maintains the average daily project output to achieve industry driven lead-times.
- Intake Management:
o Provides immediate feedback regarding RFQ’s through architectural drawing, client budget, Turf solutions, and production lead-time review.
o Analyzes Turf Design Proposals regarding client expectations and budgets.
- Quotation Services:
o Utilizes AutoCAD &/or Rhino software for Turf Estimates Diagrams.
o Quotes based on review/verification of architectural specifications, provided quantities, and/or written documentation.
o Calculates shipping costs associated with products, project scope, and project location.
o Quotes focus on “no-draw” and L1 project levels as specified by AS Estimating Manager.
- Revision Management:
o Reviews Turf Shop Drawings for project specific issues and/or post-signed quote changes of scope.
o Reviews final quote for submission to Production/Manufacturing.
- Project Internal Review:
o Provides feedback interdepartmentally on all assigned Estimator projects.
o Provides feedback on assigned projects during IPR meetings.
