Overview
The Partnership and Engagement Coordinator (Coordinator) within the City Manager’s Office (Office) reports directly to the Chief of Staff and Resilience Officer and serves as the interagency liaison in fostering collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including higher and secondary education institutions, non-profit organizations, youth-focused initiatives, and external anchor institutions and partners.
The Office is committed to enhancing the city's nation and local reputation by creating, managing, and sustaining strategic partnerships that drive positive change and support the community.
Essential Functions
1 Establishes and maintains relationships with higher and secondary education institutions, non-profit organizations, youth-oriented programs, community stakeholders and external anchor institutions and partners to create mutually beneficial collaborations for the City of Dallas.
2 Manages the implementation of outreach and engagement strategies to connect with local communities, educational institutions, youth groups, and other stakeholders, to foster active involvement in city projects and initiatives.
3 Contributes to the development of long-term strategies that align the city's objectives with the goals of higher and secondary education, non-profit organizations, youth-focused programs, and external anchor institutions and partners.
4 Consults with leadership teams to initiate programs; identify priorities; and define program scope, purpose, objectives, time frames, and resource requirements.
5 Serves as a Liaison between the city government, public officials, and partners, promoting collaboration and national recognition through effective communication, public events, and media outreach.
6 Leads the design and implementation of joint initiatives with external anchor institutions and partners, focusing on areas such as education, youth development, workforce readiness, localization management, and community empowerment.
7 Identifies national and local opportunities, grants, recognitions, and sponsorships to support partnership initiatives and city programs in partnership with the Fund Development Manager, ensuring sustainable growth and positive impact.
8 Develops advocacy and communications strategies to increase youth engagement and educational opportunities in underserved communities.
9 Collects and analyzes data related to partnership outcomes, community needs, and program effectiveness, using this information to drive continuous improvement.
10 Serves as the staff liaison for the Dallas Youth Commission & College Advisory Commission: setting up initiatives, coordinating meetings, preparing, and disseminating resources.
11 Performs any and all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration/public policy, communications, political science, marketing, or a related field.
Experience
Six (6) years of professional level experience in outreach, community relations, or educational development experience.
-Four (4) plus years of experience working in or with the public sector in an outreach or strategic partnership role or a similar position; may be concurrent. (This experience timeframe can be included in the 6 years of professional experience outlined above.)
Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
