On June 30th, 2025, RTX announced that it has signed an agreement to sell certain parts of our Collins Aerospace portfolio to TransDigm, including the Sensing & Controls portfolio. Upon close of the transaction, this role will be transitioned to TransDigm.

Sustaining Test Engineering is seeking an onsite technician to support operations in Vergennes, Vermont. The role involves troubleshooting, determining root cause, and repairing complex test equipment. Our standard test equipment hardware solutions include National Instruments PXI, cRIO, and FPGA.  Our standard architecture is LabVIEW based along with custom designed electrical solutions. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills are critical to the role. The sustaining test engineering team also offers the unique ability to learn cross-functional aspect of test equipment design including mechanical, software, and systems.

What You Will Do:

  • Troubleshoot complex issues that may be software, hardware, or system related, to determine root cause and corrective action
  • Analyze and troubleshoot circuits
  • Diagnose test setups and equipment to resolve test set failures
  • Communicate technical issues through written, verbal and presentation media.
  • Support to operations to help ensure on-time delivery of product.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment – where priorities change
  • Able to work both autonomously as well as part of a team

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on Aerospace / Military hardware design, build, test and integration experience (or in regulated manufacturing industry)
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience generating and presenting repair status
  • Strong organization, communication, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong background in electrical troubleshooting
  • Able to function at a high level with multiple tasks and projects, and to effectively change direction based upon business needs
  • Exposure to various test systems, experience with various avionics busses, and experience with National Instrument PXI hardware are all a plus
