The Alliance Learning & Professional Development Senior Director is a learning professional who leads the overall strategy, design, development, and delivery of industry leading LPD solutions that elevate the capabilities of Alliance members and drive positive organizational change. This Senior Director partners with the Alliance Talent Leader and key stakeholders to understand the professional development needs of the business and set direction and priorities for learning design and program development. This role will also provide strategic recommendations to senior department and line of business leadership on instructional matters and serves as an advisor, providing consulting services to Alliance member firms regarding the design and execution of effective learning and professional development programs within their firms.

Essential Duties:

Responsible for the strategy and overall operational excellence of Alliance learning and professional development curriculum and programming. Collaborates with business leaders at all levels to define, develop and administer learning and development strategies that align to Alliance and enterprise strategic goals.

Leverages both internal and external resources (including the selection and management of outside vendors) to design and execute transformational learning initiatives (which can include launching new technologies, tools and learning platforms, advancing innovative design and delivery methods, executive development programing, organizational updates, and strategic direction) to ensure high quality, early adoption, and distinctive talent experience. Applies appropriate instructional design techniques, theories, methodologies, and innovative practices to ensure the excellence of RSM Alliance LPD curriculum. Drives process improvement and establishes best practices for instruction and materials production. Reviews instructional materials to assure compliance with established standards. Directs the use of evaluation techniques to gather participant feedback and assess course effectiveness. Ensures team members have the skills and resources necessary to deliver eLearning in a way that meets the learner and business needs and extends the impact of LPD beyond the traditional classroom. (50%)

Develops strategic business relationships across the enterprise and in the external marketplace to deliver industry leading LPD solutions to Alliance Members and drive overall LPD impact.

Serves as the Alliance liaison to enterprise LPD teams with the responsibility to align, integrate and maximize collaboration between Alliance and enterprise LPD resources, programs, and capabilities. Builds strategic relationships into the enterprise and participates at a leadership level in firmwide LPD initiatives as assigned. Identifies and collaborates with external providers and contractors to ensure excellence in the delivery of RSM Alliance LPD programs. (20%)

Contributes expertise and experience through the development of collaborative, advisory relationships across the Alliance that advance a culture of learning and development and drives positive, impactful organizational change that distinguishes the Alliance talent experience in the market (15%)

Manages the operational aspects of the Alliance LPD function: strategic planning, budgeting, program development/management, resource allocation (10%)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (required)
  • Master’s degree (preferred)

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Microsoft Office expertise (required)
  • Instructional design expertise (required)
  • Strong communication skills (required)
  • Ability to maintain calm in challenging situations, and drive work forward in ambiguous environments (required)
  • Ability to prioritize work and set deadlines for self and others (required)
  • Multimedia design skills (preferred)
  • Evaluation design and assessment skills (preferred)
  • Computer-based training tool experience (e.g. Storyline) (preferred)
