What we need:
Oversees the administration of PMO processes by aligned IT project teams and monitors to ensure that information concerning content (e.g., deliverables, risks, issues) is reported to PMO leadership and impacted stakeholders. Works to improve the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of the organization’s project delivery capability by providing leadership in best practices with a highly customer-focused mindset. Ensures that the operational issues of the PMO are managed, focusing on the project interface with project leaders, project teams and technology.
Directs strategic, long-range, highly complex diverse projects that span the organization, crossing business unit boundaries and have direct and high organizational impact. Project scope is high dollar and high-risk and includes external vendors, multiple business units, multiple project leads and sub-projects with specific deliverables. Operates in a matrix environment with accountability to the business units and IT support teams.
When leading programs, develops plans and directs and coordinates project activities to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters, this includes but is not limited to managing all aspects of requirements, design, development, implementation and testing of assigned projects. Actively involved in business operations planning and decision-making at the division and/or business unit level.
What you’ll do:
- Confers with Relationship Managers, PMO, the user community and technologists to translates generalized and customer business goals and objectives into concrete strategic and tactical plans to determine how technology might assist in address business needs, how to leverage applications for competitive advantage. Coordinates the development of business cases, project plans and milestones, and resource needs to enable aligned IT portfolios to make the case for the effort to Leadership.
- Works with aligned IT portfolios to improve project planning, resource capacity planning, use of PMO tools and templates and practices tools to ensure PMO best practices and followed and governance needs are met. Improves PMO Quality Processes and Standards by using best practices and compliance standards (e.g. Sox) and enforced them within the organization.
- Proactively reviews and interprets IT project team performance against PMO best practices and standards; provides information and reports to PMO leadership and IT stakeholders on interpretation of results and recommends both changes to PMO strategy and reinforcement needs of the IT project teams.
- When leading programs, ensures that project goals are accomplished and aligned with business objectives; responsible for managing the team that develops and carries out internal IS project; monitors project activities ensuring currency, quality, and integrity of the information, providing consistency in content and “look and feel” across the enterprise.
- For programs being led, plans, directs and coordinates activities of Business process and IT technology resources to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and funding parameters; has overall planning, directing, designing, and coordinating pertaining to strategic and highly complex technology projects for the business unit(s).
- Maintains effective, productive and professional working relationship with internal and external customers, third party vendors, PMO, relationship managers, and governance organizations in executing the PMO function.
- Assists in the development, documentation, and maintenance of PMO best practices, standards, procedures, application, and quality objectives through direct program leadership, observations and “lessons learned”, may develop and deliver training on and emphasizes the use of established PMO standards, methodology and quality objectives.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus. MBA preferred or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, and
