Role Summary

The Marketing Academy Operations and Communications Sr. Manager is a key member of the Marketing Academy team, responsible for ensuring seamless execution of all academy events and communications. This role combines operational excellence with strategic communication skills to deliver a best-in-class experience for participants and stakeholders.

This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills, strong matrix leadership, and the ability to influence diverse teams and geographies. The ideal candidate combines operational mastery with creative communication expertise to elevate the Marketing Academy’s impact globally.

Role Responsibilities

Operations & Logistics

  • Manage end-to-end operational execution and logistics management for global Marketing Academy events, including venue coordination, technology setup, attendee experience, and onsite support.

  • Act as the “pilot in command” for the Marketing Academy operations, providing direction and oversight to the Marketing Academy Coordinator and Administrative Partner.

  • Oversee the semester calendar of US, Global and International Marketing Academy events, ensuring all activities are thoughtfully communicated, scheduled and aligned with learning objectives.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and problem-solving during events.

  • Coordinate across the Marketing Academy team and external partners (digital, facilities, vendors) to ensure smooth execution of events including webinars, skills-lab sessions, communities of practice and other Marketer focused learning sessions sponsored by the Marketing Academy.

  • Monitor macro and micro project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to keep all events on track and identify potential risks early.

  • Apply strategic thinking and analytical rigor to optimize operational processes, identify efficiencies, and implement best practices for Marketing Academy programs.

  • Oversee the event closeout process and ensure successful reporting of post event activities such as materials to the learning hub, attendee and polling reports.

Communications Management

  • Lead the development of the monthly Marketing Academy newsletter, including design, layout, and copywriting.

  • Act as the “pilot in command” for the Marketing Academy communications, providing direction and oversight to the Marketing Academy Coordinator and Administrative Partner.

  • Oversee all pre-event and post-event communications, including prework, invitations, reminders, follow-ups, and recap materials.

  • Maintain Marketing Academy consistent branding and tone across all communication channels.

  • Leverage AI and new tech to enhance branding and communication strategies for Marketing Academy training session invitations, newsletters, post event session recaps, SOPs, ways of working across key stakeholder groups.

Team Leadership & Strategic Alignment

  • Foster collaboration and clear communication among team members and key logistics partners.

  • Ensure alignment between operational plans and strategic goals of the Marketing Academy.

  • Drive strategies that align process optimization, SOP governance, and tools with enterprise objectives.

  • Ensure SOPs and processes reduce administrative burden while enabling efficiencies and effectiveness across the department.

  • Develop, standardize, and continuously optimize Marketing Academy processes.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Provide backup support to Excellence and Strategic Partnership Leads to assist in project management and cross-functional alignment for content development when needed.

  • Support other special Marketing Academy projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS required.
  • 6+ years of marketing, communications, PR, project management, or marketing agency experience.
