Overview of the Position

Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)

Location: Peoria, AZ

Hours & Schedule: Full-Time (Friday - Sunday : 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM)

Travel Required: No (but ideal candidate is open to covering in the West Valley if needed)

Work Environment: Adolescent residential treatment facility

Salary / Hourly Rate: $20 - $25/hr

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a key part of our treatment team, providing direct support, supervision, and care to adolescents facing mental health and substance use challenges. This role ensures patient safety, assists with daily activities, monitors behavior, and helps implement therapeutic and recovery-based interventions.

You will be responsible for creating a structured, safe, and supportive environment where clients can work toward emotional and behavioral stability.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support clients in a therapeutic residential setting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client behavior, progress, and concerns.
  • Observe, report, and monitor changes in client behavior and well-being.
  • Assist in implementing structured routines and recovery-focused interventions.
  • Conduct random drug screenings as outlined in facility policies.
  • Support client participation in health screenings, hygiene, medication administration, and vitals monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and confidentiality policies.
  • Communicate effectively with the House Supervisor and clinical team regarding client progress and concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility and follow infection prevention protocols.
  • Foster a positive, empathetic, and accountable treatment environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support client care.


Prerequisites / License & Certification Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 6 months of behavioral health experience required; 1-2 years preferred.
  • Travel: Open to traveling between West Valley locations
  • Education: High school diploma
