Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Test & Evaluation is seeking Industrial Engineers to join our team in Seattle, WA.

This Industrial Engineering role will support Lab Test Fabrication, Assembly, Setup, and Test (FAST) within the Boeing Test & Evaluation Organization.

The ideal candidate will utilize manufacturing operations knowledge and business acumen to partner with cross functional teams from operations, engineering, quality, supplier management, materials management, and program management to achieve organizational business goals and objectives. The Industrial Engineers assist in the stabilization of the production environment, implement lean methodologies, assess test readiness requirements, as well as improve quality through root cause analysis. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, and Experienced Level Engineers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seattle, Washington.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements of moderate complexity

  • Designs, develops, analyzes, tests, evaluates and implements processes and technology insertions by applying industrial engineering techniques and concepts to optimize production system design, operational efficiency and after-market services

  • Monitors performance, supports production and systems to meet operational and functional requirements

  • Translates engineering, systems, and mathematical concepts to practical applications throughout the product life cycle

  • Researches emerging technologies and develops industrial engineering tools and processes

  • Ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines

  • Supports the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations

  • Develops moderately complex models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders

  • Assists with research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization

  • Leads metrics, data analysis, and improvement plans, related to our team’s productivity, efficiency and first-time quality; including Lean+ events, 5S improvement plans, and/or special initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor degree or higher in an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience using Aurora Scheduling Software

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering

  • Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and/or production environment

  • Experience working with lean manufacturing with knowledge of lean principles

  • Experience with improvement projects

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation
