The Team:
The Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania's second largest hospital with a busy elective and emergency service utilising 9 main Operating Theatres. The LGH works closely with the University of Tasmania and is a major clinical teaching and research centre. The Role:
Registered Nurses within the Operating Room Suite work across the domains of Instrument and Circulating, Anaesthetics and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit to provide elective and emergency care to patients across multiple specialty areas.
You will need:
- The Operating Room Suite is a dynamic environment requiring the successful applicant to prioritize tasks, adapt and respond to changing situations.
- Minimum of 12 months Operating Room experience within the past 3 years is desirable.

Details of appointment:
Multiple fixed term, casual positions working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 24 months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Minimum 12 months Operating Room experience within the last 3 years
- Minimum of 3 years’ Operating Room experience within the last 5 years
- Successful completion of a 12-month Transition to Practice, Perioperative Program
- Attainment of Post Graduate Certificate, or greater, in the area of
