Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated person to join her team as an Assistant Attorney General in the Attorney General's Fair Labor Division. The Fair Labor Division (FLD) investigates and enforces the Massachusetts wage and hour and other laws governing fair labor standards and public construction bidding laws under Chapters 149 and 151 of the Massachusetts General Laws and related regulations. The candidate for this position will be primarily responsible for enforcing violations of labor standards under M.G.L. Chapter 149, M.G.L Chapter 151 and other related regulations and statutes.
Primary Duties: Assistant Attorneys General are responsible for the enforcement of Massachusetts labor standards, including statutes that address non-payment of wages, overtime, minimum wage, child labor, public construction bidding, prevailing wages, labor trafficking, and diverse related statutes. Assistant Attorneys General maintain an active case load and prosecute violations in civil, criminal and administrative proceedings. Assistant Attorneys General also participate in community engagement initiatives, including making public presentations to employers and employees concerning the wage and hour laws.
Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt.
Location: This position may be based in the Boston, New Bedford, or Worcester Regional Office. Office location will be determined based on the candidate’s expressed preference and space availability.
Salary: $3,472.16 to $5,065.55/bi-weekly. Salary is determined by procedures outlined in applicable collective bargaining agreements and personnel procedures.
