POSITION SUMMARY:
TransMedics is transforming organ transplantation through the Organ Care System (OCS), an advanced medical technology platform that integrates hardware, software, and clinical science. Our Biomedical Engineering team works across test engineering, laboratory operations, and product development to ensure system performance and reliability.
The Biomedical Engineering Intern will support a range of technical activities including test engineering, clinical lab support, circuit board calibration, equipment assembly, software setup, and data analysis. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of engineering and biomedical science within a regulated medical device environment. This internship is ideal for students who enjoy both lab work and technical system development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Test Engineering & System Support
Assist with test engineering activities and protocol execution
Support circuit board calibration and verification
Assist with equipment assembly and system configuration
Support software setup and system troubleshooting
Clinical Lab & Experimental Support
Provide support within the clinical lab environment
Assist with experiment setup and execution
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and results
Data & Software Support
Analyze experimental and system performance data
Support development or modification of software tools
Utilize programming tools such as MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW
Contribute to documentation and reporting of findings
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work alongside engineering, research, and clinical teams
Follow quality and safety protocols
Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving discussions

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
- General office environment where there is a significant amount of time at a desk, working on computers and reviewing documents. This requires the ability to sit for extended periods. They also may need to stand for meetings or when moving around the office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering
