Walden’s Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services (OASIS) provides instruction to help students develop academic and professional skills for success. OASIS houses seven teams: the Walden Library; Content Management; Content Operations; Instructional Services; and Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral Academic Support. Following Walden’s Success by Degree framework, we align our instructional support with university-wide, degree-level learning outcomes. Everyone in OASIS collaborates with teams across Walden to ensure we connect students with flexible, seamless instructional support where and when they need it.

Across OASIS, we offer various instructional services and resources to support students’ skill development at all stages of their studies. The Lead Librarian, Information Literacy and Instructional Design, will lead the design, development, and maintenance of OASIS’s information literacy and research curriculum, as well as oversee reference services.

The individual in this role will secondarily support various OASIS instructional services. Possibilities include doctoral residency presentations and individual and group student support. In collaboration with the other OASIS teams, the OASIS Instructional Services Team creates varied interactive experiences that meet students where they are and encourage critical thinking, active engagement, and the application of knowledge inside and outside the classroom. This role will report to the Associate Dean of Instructional Services in OASIS. Key traits sought for the person in this role include being curious, creative, flexible, and collaborative. The person in this role will bring heart to their work with students and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the planning, design, coordination, delivery, promotion, and assessment of OASIS’s information literacy and research curriculum.
• Creates and maintains library skill learning modules, video tutorials, and digital learning objects in line with OASIS instructional standards and needs; collaborates with OASIS colleagues in producing learning resources.
