Summary

Spire is seeking an enthusiastic, career-minded student or recent graduate to join our operations across our regions.  Our paid internship position affords students the opportunity to gain real-world experience to help put what they have learned in class into action. As an Intern, you may complete various projects and perform administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned department and natural gas industry. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist on special projects
  • Will assist with scheduling and coordinating community engagement events and volunteer efforts
  • Assist with documenting procedures and processes
  • Will assist in the following departments:  Community Engagement, Human Resources, and Regulatory

Essential Characteristics and Competencies

  • Ability to lead by example in support of Spire’s values of safety, inclusion and integrity    
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions with independently and multitask effectively
     

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Undergraduate graduation projected within 2 semesters or accepted/enrolled in a master’s degree program
  • Degree area in Human Resources, HR Management, Psychology, Industrial & Labor Relations, Business Administration with HR Concentration, or other relevant field of study.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment through collegiate activities or organizations.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Ability to lead projects from initiation through completion
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic math and writing principles
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) required

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Work is normally performed in an open, shared office environment
  • Typically, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Additional time beyond normal work hours is sometimes required to meet target timeframes for completing special projects or studies
  • Limited travel may be required
