Director, Quality

Position Overview  

The Director of Quality is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines through the development, implementation, and oversight of the quality system, including process control and verification activities. This role oversees all aspects of quality control related to manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products, while maintaining established product appearance and performance standards through effective inspection protocols. 

Additionally, the Director of Quality leads and manages the daily operations of the quality inspection team, including receiving, in-process, and final inspection, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to company and regulatory requirements. 

Essential Job Duties 

1. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s quality system to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), customer, and contractual requirements.  

1. Establish, document, and maintain quality policies, procedures, inspection programs, and work instructions to ensure conformity to approved data, effective process control, and low defect rates.  

1. Oversee all inspection activities, including receiving, in-process, final, and First Article Inspection (FAI), ensuring adherence to regulatory and customer standards and timely closure of findings.  

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring preparedness, successful execution, and resolution of audit findings.  

1. Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address nonconformances, audit findings, and process deficiencies.  

1. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and other departments to improve processes, reduce defects, and enhance product quality and reliability.
