Job Summary:

The Founding Program Director and Faculty Member for the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program at Saint Peter’s University will be responsible for leading the planning, development, and implementation of a new graduate-level PA program. This position includes oversight of all aspects of academic and administrative operations, including but not limited to curriculum design, faculty and staff recruitment, budget management, accreditation compliance, and student support.

The Director will serve as the primary liaison to the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and will lead the preparation and submission of the Application for Provisional Accreditation. The position carries faculty responsibilities, including teaching, advising, participation in scholarly activity, and service to the department and university. The Director will report to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs and Assessment and work collaboratively with senior academic leadership to align the program with institutional priorities and strategic goals.

Duties and Responsiblites:

  • Direct all aspects of program planning, development, and implementation.

  • Lead the preparation and submission of the ARC-PA Provisional Accreditation application and oversee the site visit process.

  • Develop and implement program policies, curriculum, assessment strategies, and student outcomes in alignment with ARC-PA Standards.

  • Work collaboratively with University leadership to secure appropriate staffing, clinical placements, technology, and facilities.

  • Recruit, hire, and mentor faculty and professional staff.

  • Manage the program’s budget, scheduling, and compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.

  • Engage in long-term strategic planning to ensure sustainability and excellence.

  • Teach graduate-level PA courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.

  • Advise and mentor students, and participate in admissions and recruitment.

  • Contribute to scholarly activity and serve on departmental and university committees.

  • Actively engage local and regional stakeholders to grow and maintain professional connections and promote the physician assistant profession within our community.

  • Develop syllabi and course materials in alignment with program learning outcomes

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support institutional and departmental goals

Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor dependent on experience

Tenure Information: Tenure or Non-tenure Track

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000

Salary commensurate with experience.
