Your department: 

Energy Management Digitalisation unit creates value for the Energy Management value chain by providing state-of-the-art digital solutions, with a professional interface towards IT. Product owners in this unit identifies and translates business needs into prioritised actions for innovation and system improvements. The mission is to deliver fit for future solutions while ensuring quality, efficiency of development, and consistency across Energy Management systems. 

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner who will be responsible for the IT solutions supporting analysis and management of data related to water, weather and climate. Water, weather, and climate is key and the foundation for all renewable energy production. Hence, the deliverables from this product team will be an important input to several of Statkraft’s core business processes.   

The Product Owner Water, Weather and Climate will have responsibilities including, but not limited, to the following: 

  • Have the overall view and manage the totality of Statkraft’s water, weather and climate systems 

  • Drive continuous improvement of processes and tools in close collaboration with our analytical and operative units, internal IT and external vendors.  

  • Build a long-term roadmap to support Statkraft’s strategic ambitions within energy management and water, weather and climate analysis 

  • Elicit, capture and analyze end-user business requirements 

  • Align and prioritize together with other product owners to ensure the optimal system landscape for Statkraft Energy Management 

  • Lead the product team that maintains and improves the products including external vendors 

  • Manage risks with technology and vendors 

  • Take part in relevant R&D projects 

Qualifications

This is a perfect role for a hydrologist, meteorologist or similar with experience in IT or an IT professional with experience in water, weather, climate or energy management. The profile we are looking for has: 

  • University degree in engineering, natural sciences, or business 

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience  

  • Experience with water, weather, climate or energy management 

  • Experience in product owner role 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive lean process design and improvements 

  • Strong collaboration skills, with an ability to effectively influence decisions, direction, and outcomes  

  • Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English
