Product Life Cycle Engineer, Power Tools

Are you passionate about product development and finding ways to improve existing solutions? We are looking for a Product Life Cycle Engineer to join our Power Tools team in Jeppo. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of Mirka’s Power Tools products while working in a collaborative and international environment.

Your role:

As a Product Life Cycle Engineer, your main responsibility will be to develop and improve products within Mirka’s Power Tools portfolio. You will play a key role in ensuring our products remain competitive, reliable, and aligned with customer needs. This involves investigating root causes of technical issues and implementing effective re-designs to improve product performance. You will also manage and oversee engineering changes, coordinating their implementation to ensure they are successfully implemented in production.

A significant part of your role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary design activities, working closely with electronics, mechanical and software developers. You will ensure that updates to technical documentation accurately reflect these changes. Additionally, you will play an active role in supporting supplier processes, ensuring their efficiency and alignment with our requirements. On occasion, you will also manage the transfer of complex components between suppliers, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing potential disruptions.

Effective collaboration is essential in this role. In addition to working with multiple internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams you will collaborate with suppliers and partners worldwide to ensure compliance with specifications and manufacturing requirements.

Requirements

In terms of qualifications and experience, we value:

·         Technical education (B.Sc. or M.Sc in a relevant field, or equivalent through experience)

·         Experience in serial production processes

·         A background in engineering-related roles, particularly in product development

·         A good understanding of manufacturing methods and industrial processes

·         Familiarity with modern design tools and methodologies

·         Excellent problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach

·         Motivation and readiness to learn new things

·         Good team working abilities, but also to be able to independently work on own assignments

·         Good English, spoken and written
