Events & Promotions Manager

Starting pay is $56,500 per year based on experience.

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the effective development, management, integration, and execution of all Promotions and Special Events at Horseshoe and Lady Luck Casino, Black Hawk Colorado, including but not limited to cash and merchandise giveaways, tournaments, high-end events, and gift programs designed to develop and cultivate new and existing slot and table games players.     

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop, plan and execute all promotional programs and special events for Horseshoe anc Lady Luck Casinos.
• Understand department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget to achieve effective management of department. 
• Prepares pro-formas on promotions and events to determine worthiness. Monitors financial figures for future promotions. 
• Performs post analysis of efficiency and profitability of all promotional programs and special events. 
• Hosts guests and accommodate their needs within program guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction and encourage return visits. 
• Communicates goals and needs in order to facilitate planning for property’s promotional programs. 
• Complies property’s standards, guidelines, and objectives and maintains administrative processes to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of department functions. 
• Meets and communicates with other departments to facilitate planning for fulfilling their casino promotion and special event needs. 
• Researches, contacts and arranges for vendors to execute special needs. Oversees all outside vendors in the execution of agreed-upon contracts. 
• Determines equipment necessary for activities to ensure the timely procurement of necessary parts and that par inventory is maintained.
• Coordinates the upkeep and maintenance of equipment to ensure proper operation. 
• Effectively plans, organizes and prioritizes a heavy workload with competing priorities. 
• Anticipates the guest’s needs and responds appropriately with a sense of urgency and maintains a high level of professionalism. 
• Actively works as a good will ambassador of Horseshoe and Lady Luck Casino. 
• Effectively communicates with management in order to fulfill and address any issues. 
• Staff, schedule, evaluate, train, develop and monitor subordinate personnel. Recommend wage increases, promotions, demotions, discipline and other employment actions for subordinate personnel. 
• Assist the marketing staff with the execution of marketing programs. 
• Performs other duties as assigned by management. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado Support gaming license 
•  Knowledge of federal, state and gaming laws and regulations 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills 
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word 
•  Strong strategic and analytical skills. 
•  Thorough knowledge of and experience in promotions planning and execution preferably within a casino environment with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. 
•  Bachelor's Degree in marketing, journalism, communication, advertising or related field preferred 
•  In-depth understanding of the management and operations of all casino and tourism business. 
•  Superb organizational skills  
•  Customer service and stage presence skills and stage presence  

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Advertising or Public Relations or related discipline and a minimum of three years’ experience in promotions preferably within a casino environment or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
