The Warehouse Associate/Warehouse Operator is responsible for safely receiving, storing, handling, and shipping inventory while maintaining an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment. This position operates forklifts and other warehouse equipment to fulfill customer orders, support inventory accuracy, and ensure timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual material handling techniques.
• Pull, stage, package, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Receive inbound shipments by unloading trucks, verifying quantities, and inspecting materials for damage.
• Accurately stock inventory in designated warehouse and outdoor storage locations.
• Cut plastic pipe, rod, tubing, hose, and other materials to customer specifications.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, banding machines, stretch wrappers, saws, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Transport plastic tanks and other oversized materials using company trucks and trailers as required.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of company vehicles, forklifts, trailers, and warehouse equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory organization and assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities.
• Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and promptly report issues to warehouse management.
• Assist with warehouse housekeeping, including sweeping floors, removing debris, organizing materials, and disposing of pallets and packaging.
• Keep loading docks, warehouse aisles, and outdoor storage areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Remove snow and ice from loading docks, walkways, and designated work areas using shovels, salt, or other approved methods.
• Make occasional customer deliveries using company vehicles while providing professional customer service.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and warehouse operating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and distribution operations.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous warehouse, distribution, or material handling experience preferred.
• Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Basic math, organizational, and inventory management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance or mechanical equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a warehouse and outdoor storage environment. Employees are regularly exposed to moving equipment, varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and other conditions typical of warehouse and industrial distribution operations. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
