As a Natural Resource Specialist 1 – Project Biologist in Clackamas, Oregon, you will conduct studies important to management of fisheries resources in the Columbia River Basin and Oregon in general. Duties include:

  • Collect field data aboard boats to (1) assess population abundance of White Sturgeon in the lower Columbia River, and (2) evaluate the effects of Northern Pikeminnow and other piscivorous fishes on survival of juvenile salmon in the Columbia Basin.

  • Oversee field crew sampling operations and data collection

  • Maintain data files and databases

  • Assist in data summaries, analyses, and annual report writing.

  • Coordinate the purchase, maintenance, and repair of boats, vehicles, and sampling equipment

  • Work in laboratory to identify macroinvertebrate and fish prey of piscivorous fishes.
